Jan 1

Dec 30

We left Russ and Dianne's about noon. Just before the 232nd Ave. exit Dahlia decided to take one big burp. The fuel pump died and we were dead on the freeway.

Thanks to BCAA,
Two hours later we were in A Westfalia repair centre in Langley.

In spite of the inconvenience of Harvey and Wendy having to pick us up, it was very fortuitous that it should go at this time. All the parts were in Langley and after the weekend the parts would be ordered and repair should be completed on Tuesday.

Crocker-luck held out and we thank our lucky stars that we did not have this happen in El Salvador!!

It was great catching up with Harvey and Wendy. The next day they drove us into Vancouver and we were at Sam and Jean's. We had an enjoyable and laid-back New Year's Eve at Sam's. The snow that evening knocked out the power for quite a number of hours but we had a truly great time.

Jan 1

3 inches of snow and a lot of shoveling. Then it was for a short walk down on the beach at English Bay. We got there shortly before the polar dip.

We stopped and had a snack at one of the beachside restaurants and watched the legends Hockey game for awhile. Back to the house where we shovelled sidewalks and then watched the junior hockey game with Russia.  Nice day.
