Dec 31. NEW YEARS EVE

At about 11 o'clock in the morning Harv and Wendy drove us into Vancouver to Sam and Jean's home. 

After a couple of beers and laid-back conversation, we were surprised to see it actually started to snow outside at about 3 o'clock. Snow continued until about 530 when the power in our area of town went out.

Suddenly we had a bit of a problem. There was no way to cook supper. After finding flashlights and candles the barbeque was put into action.

We celebrated the New Year with no electricity in the glow of a warm fireplace with Sam and Jean. 

Dec 28

Road trip begins at 1:00 pm

We chose to take the Fraser Canyon route as the Coquahalla had extreme snow conditions. The Fraser Valley route was dark and wet but we made it to Russ and Dianne's after supper.

Dec 29

Amazing light display at Van Dusen Gardins. Oak st and 37th Ave in Vancouver 

 

Russ and Dianne drove us out to Vancouver to see the lights. It was truly a wonderful evening for both of us
